Types of cookies
The City of Copenhagen uses four types of cookies. The necessary cookies ensure that the website works and can not be turned off, while the other types have other purposes.
Required cookies
Required cookies enable basic functions such as cookie rejection and access to secure content. We use Drupal 7 as a content management system.
Functional cookies
Functional cookies make it possible to display e.g. interactive maps, forms, videos (23Video) or other text sizes. On certain pages (NemID / contact pages for Citizen Service) we use cookies to activate a Link-Bot, which can help the citizen to the options we offer to provide a better service. We thus have a number of suppliers and support systems in various areas, and we have data processor agreements with them on secure brug af data.
Statistics cookies
Statistics cookies make it possible to collect anonymous information about users in order to analyze which pages and services are used on our websites. We do this to be able to customize our content and improve the user experience. We use Siteimprove as a statistics system and Userindex for surveys, and we have data processor agreements with them on the safe use of data.
Preference cookies
Preference cookies remember what the user does during his visits to the website (eg create profile, fill out form or remember language choice). We currently use no systems that set preference cookies.
External links on the website
When we link to other websites, eg SKAT, JobNet or the state agencies, these will have their own cookie policies and cookie banners, where you can relate to cookies that are set there.
When we link to videos on eg Youtube, the provider of the video will only be able to set cookies when you play the video.

What is a cookie?
A cookie is a file that is placed on your computer, tablet or smartphone. It allows you to recognize your computer and gather information about which pages and features you visit with your browser. But cookies can not see who you are, what your name is, where you live or whether the computer is used by one or more people. It also cannot spread computer viruses or other malicious programs.

What happens if I turn off cookies?
It depends on the types of cookies that opt out of our site. See the different types of cookies we use, above.
Can you completely deselect all cookies?
If you want to completely avoid cookies in general, you can turn cookies off in your browser. However, you should be aware that you can not log in or use functions and services that require the website to remember your choices.
All browsers allow you to delete cookies individually or all at once. How you do this depends on the browser you are using. Remember that if you use multiple browsers, delete cookies in all of them.
